Younger sister to the European Causeway, the European Highlander is a freight ship that operates on our Larne-Cairnryan route. The ship was one of the first purposely built in Japan just for this route and has been running since 2002. The Highlander can travel at speeds of up to 23 knots which makes her one of the fastest ferries on the Irish Sea, carrying tourist and freight passengers.
