Dangerous Goods Shipment
We are able to ship most classes of dangerous goods on our ferry routes, and have dedicated, freight-only vessels for this purpose.
All hazardous shipments must comply with the IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) Code which differs from the ADR agreement (AKA, the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road). Please ensure you are complying with all the relevant hazardous and dangerous goods shipping regulations to ensure a smooth booking process. P&O Freight reserves the right to refuse a dangerous goods shipment at any time.
For transport by sea all dangerous goods and hazardous freight, irrespective of quantity, must be declared. All dangerous goods must be accompanied by a Dangerous Goods Note (DGN). When using our dangerous goods shipping services, the driver is responsible for ensuring the correct paperwork accompanies the load.
For further information on the IMDG code, please visit the Hazcheck website.
For bookings or operational questions about dangerous goods shipping, please contact the relevant port.
Please note when booking with the P&O Freight booking system we cannot take dangerous goods freight shipments, so all dangerous goods and hazardous freight will need to be organized by calling our team.
