Rapid antigen tests for freight drivers at Hull port

From 00:01 on 19 January, Dutch government will be implementing further Covid-19 restrictions for anyone entering the Netherlands. The new requirement states that people arriving in the Netherlands from UK or Ireland must provide proof that they have tested negative for coronavirus following a rapid test directly before departure. This new requirement also applies to freight drivers. More information is available here.

For our Hull to Europoort route, we have set up a test centre at our Terminal 1 in Hull port (postcode HU9 5PS) and we ask any freight drivers that wish to use our service to arrive at least 1h and 30 mins time before departure in order to minimise the risk of missing the sailing. The test centre will be opened Monday to Sunday from 14:00 to 19:30. The test will be free of charge until 31 January, and £29 thereafter.

All drivers must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of travel upon departure.

Please do not come to the Port of Dover if you do not have proof of a negative test taken within 72 hours.

*Freight drivers remain exempt from quarantine/self-isolation requirements on arrival in the UK, regardless of the countries they have travelled in, but please note that points 1 & 3 of the public health information below applies to all freight drivers and accompanying passengers.

The United Kingdom is taking steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
1) To protect your health and others’, everyone must complete an online passenger locator form before arrival in the United Kingdom.
2) You may* be required to self-isolate for 10 days on arrival. Check the exempt countries list immediately before you travel as this list can change at short notice.
3) It is a legal requirement that you wear a face covering on public transport in the UK.
4)If you are required to self-isolate, you may be able to shorten the self-isolation period by opting into a test to release scheme, depending on which part of the UK you are in. For further information and a list of providers please visit www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-test-to-release-for-international-travel

My driver had a puncture as he drove onto the ferry. Three of P&O’s deck staff went above and beyond to help him change the tyre (he is nearly 70). My sincere thanks to these three guys, their help is much appreciated.

Ed WilliamsTek Freight

We were booked on to a ferry with another operator this morning, who would not let our vehicle on as he’d missed the cut off due to being caught in traffic on the motorway (still arrived over an hour and a half before the ship was due to sail). He then went to P&O Freight office to see if you had any availability today and you were able to get us on the 9am sailing – bearing in mind, he didn’t get to you until around 8:30! Thank you
